About Kara: 

I began scrapbooking after the birth of my daughter in 1998.  I found myself with thousands of photos—she was only six months old—and I had no idea what to do with them.  So, during one of our outings to the mall, I went in Hallmark to see what they had in the way of photo books.  I bought my first scrapbook and a small pack of (loud) patterned paper—complete with die cuts.  So began my TOTAL addiction!! 

Thankfully as my addiction grew, so did the scrapbooking industry! I discovered Creative Memories—YES, no more hunting down my fixes, I could have them delivered to my door!  With this endeavor I became the supplier for my friends and family—pulling in all that came near me.  I loved teaching others about this amazing hobby and I set out to make sure everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

My passion for scrapbooking outgrew CM as my need for all the paper, ribbon, and embellishments I could find grew.  This had become my outlet, my therapy, my “me” time, and my girl time!

Since I was not short on passion (or supplies), just time, I discovered mini albums.  What is better than instant gratification in scrapping?  During a girl time retreat I was busy completing little album after little album.  People began to comment on not only how cute the albums were, but also how much I was getting done.  They followed this with, “we could never do that—create an album like that”.  So, Julie and I decided right then and there we were going to make it easy for everyone to create quick, cute, fun, and better yet complete albums.  Hence, All You Need Scrapbook Kits was born!  Now I have the opportunity to spread my addictions even further!

About Julie: 

Nine years ago, when my husband and I were still dating, he said to me, “I sure hope you don’t get into scrapbooking like my mom and sister-in-law.”  Thinking that my art skills were extremely limited prompted me to respond, “Absolutely NOT!” I thought there was no way that I would ever become involved with scrapbooking.  I did, however, want to try to find some activity with my future sister-in-law to get to know her better.  Scrapbooking seemed like the perfect answer. 

I first was exposed to this art of scrapbooking at Kara’s home while she was teaching a Creative Memories class.  I brought five pictures of my oh so pampered pup and slapped them on a 12 by 12 page with some die cuts and stickers.  Soon, stickers and die cuts weren’t enough to assuage my addiction.  I became obsessed with all things scrapbooking.  Kara and some friends and I went to retreats and crops and classes.  We spent numerous days on the road just seeking out scrapbook supplies on the east coast.

My husband and I were soon married and two years later we became parents to a little boy….and my scrapbooking addiction exploded.  I wanted picture after picture of my son with each and every milestone and smile.   Now, between dedicated family and friends, we have millions of pictures to scrapbook.  And having a mini album kit to scrapbook or a premade album ready for pictures is a great way to display those photos. 

Kara and I fell in love with the idea of a mini album.  Even though we still scrapbook our 12 by 12 albums, we love being able to put cute little albums in a basket by the coffee table or on a shelf for display. It has become my very favorite way to preserve my special memories of family, friends, and events.

Being “dragged” into the scrapbooking world now seems like a blessing.  I love the craft. Making a decision to start a company with Kara wasn’t a difficult one. Doing what we love, and bringing that joy and excitement to customers, is now half the fun!
